Through a selling of the estate and mansion to different developers and eventually the City of Beverly Hills, the entire grounds were dedicated as a public park in 1971 and is also the site of the city’s largest reservoir. Upon completion of the Summit Avenue residence, Hill had the family's old house, which he had constructed in 1878, razed.
