Each of the "good ladies" symbolized one of the ship's 7 different neighbourhoods. The naming ceremony took place at Port Everglade, on December 5, 2009. There are two "secret balconies" positioned close to the aft elevators on Deck 9. Both balconies are small (each is furnished with a table and two chairs), overlook Central Park and are some of the best points to view the entire neighborhood.

UPGRADE YOUR BEACH DAY

There are fountains to spray water, diving platforms, lights, and more. In other words, if you’ve ever felt cramped on a cruise ship, then things are different on Oasis of the Seas. And as you’ll see below, that space also provides an opportunity to pack more onto the ship for an experience that’s like nothing else.

bars & lounges

Be awestruck by the Colosseum in Rome one minute, then wander along the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona the next. Or, wander the white sand beaches in the Bahamas and take flight on a zip line over Labadee's coastline.

Hotels With Cruise Shuttles For Every Major Port in America

One unique activity here is a zipline that will carry you across the open split in the ship and over the Boardwalk. Combined, that makes Oasis-class ships like this one different from anything else in cruising. That means even if you’ve sailed other ships — including other types in the Royal Caribbean fleet — you haven’t had the same experience as sailing on Oasis of the Seas. All of our cruise ships are equipped to accommodate any special needs — just let us know and we’ll make you feel at home.

Or get a taste of Bora Bora with your own overwater cabana. When you sail onboard Oasis of the Seas®, adventure is always on the itinerary. To us, there is just something different about Oasis-class ships such as Oasis of the Seas. If you’ve sailed Royal Caribbean before, but not on its biggest ships, then you haven’t experienced all that the cruise line can offer. EntertainmentRoyal Caribbean always places a big emphasis on entertainment, and Oasis is no different. As mentioned above, there are a number of music and comedy venues for passengers to enjoy.

Symphony is just a tad bigger, carries a few dozen fewer passengers, and offers a couple additional dining venues. Staterooms, however, are nicer and more modern on Symphony, so if design is important to you and you have the extra cash, Symphony might just be the ticket. Whether you fill your day with high-energy thrills or lots of laid-back lounging, eventually you’re going to work up an appetite. Fortunately, Perfect Day at CocoCay offers tons of delicious dining options to satisfy all your cravings. Check Out PlaymakersThere are a number of spots to get a burger on the ship including Johnny Rockets and the buffet. It’s an upcharge, but you’ll get one of the biggest burgers you’ll find anywhere.

All Royal Caribbean Oasis-class ships are world's first passenger vessels with a DNV Green Passport. This is a key element for the Clean Ship Design certificate. The certificate is not compulsory, but it shows the environmental commitment of the operator line Royal Caribbean International. Another interesting feature is that their hulls have a special non-toxic covering that minimizes friction and saves fuel.

activities & shows

The meeting at open sea coincided with the Harmony's arrival at Port Everglades (her US homeport), finishing a 13-night Transatlantic repositioning cruise from Barcelona to Florida (Oct 23 - Nov 5). The following aerial photo shows an Oasis-class vessel (as looked from above). So what makes Oasis a hit for the families and active cruisers who love it?

ONBOARD EXPERIENCES

A daily stateroom attendant dedicated to making sure your stay is spectacular. Nightly turn down service so you can rest easy before the next day’s adventures. Whether you’re traveling with kids, a group of fellow explorers, or require any kind of specialized services, we’ve thought of all the creature comforts you’d expect during your vacation — plus a few more. Cruisers are often drawn to sister ship Symphony of the Seas for similar itineraries in the Caribbean.

You can do so through the Royal Caribbean app on your phone. It’s a good idea to reserve as you don’t want to be caught out as the venue fills up. If there is space the staff will do their best to accommodate you.

Feature port destinations include Cozumel Mexico, Nassau Bahamas, St Thomas USVI, St Maarten, Jamaica, Labadee (Royal Caribbean's Haiti private island resort). By the Jogging Track (aft on Deck 5/Promenade) there are several small seating areas fitted with all-weather Adirondack chairs (positioned near the railings). Savor all your favorite cocktails at this tranquil poolside retreat. Come for a cocktail, stay for a song at this lively late-night spot.

This is the ultimate specialty dining experience for culinary connoisseurs. Swirl through a champagne bowl funnel in Supercell℠, part of The Perfect Storm℠, the boldest waterslides at sea. Specialty dining reservations should be made in advance, too. If you don't like planning your cruise activities before you board or hate lines, Oasis is probably not a great choice compared to Royal Caribbean's more intimate ships. Conquer the tallest waterslide in North America and snap a shot from up to 450 feet up in a helium balloon. Grab a drink at the swim-up bar and soak up the scene in the largest freshwater pool in the Bahamas.

It’s large, beautiful, offers great views, and provides plenty of sun without having to worry about the wind. Oasis of the Seas — or what Royal Caribbean likes to refer to as the original “game-changer” — is a nickname is well-earned. The ship is the first of the Oasis-class vessels in Royal Caribbean’s fleet, representing the largest cruise liners on the planet. In fact, outside of this class of ships, there is nothing that even comes close to the size. But then, what are the main differences onboard Symphony of the Seas vs. Oasis of the Seas?

And yet, Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas has been enthusiastically embraced as one of the cruise line's most beloved vessels, even more than a decade after its launch. At double occupancy, Oasis sails with 5,606 passengers, but during the busiest seasons there can be nearly 6,700 people onboard. Its onboard attractions are so popular that up to one-third of the passengers never even leave the ship in port. The length of Oasis of the Seas is roughly 3.3 football fields, so there’s plenty of space for everyone. Now you can grab crazy good Mexican fare at El Loco Fresh® or game-day favorites at Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade. Suites Are RidiculousThink of a suite on a normal ship and you might think essentially a balcony cabin with some more space.
